Tried it and loved it, although i think a little garlic can't hurt (can it ever? and I wasn't able to get it as thick as I would like. But I will defintely try again! Also, since I live alone I cut the recipe in half and it was still more than enough for one sitting.

I loved this recipe. It was easy to make and the chowda was delicous. The deviled ham/cheese melt was also good but not something that I would marry to chowda.

Both myself (I doesn't care much for clam chowder and my husband (who loves clam chowder enjoyed this recipe. I threw in some corn that I had in the fridge, some garlic and added a bit of extra hot sauce to suit our tastes. I will definately be making this again!

The one BIG improvement I would make to this soup would be to cook the bacon to the point of crispiness, even if that means cooking it first. It tasted limp in the soup, a waste of good thick bacon. Otherwise it was very good.

This was a quick & easy recipe to follow however it was a little bland maybe because I made a double batch. I will make it again.

Very good. It was quick and easy, but was still home-made.

Ms Ray has me cooking again! Before I Made these, I loved that little can of Underwood, and the only soup I would eat from a can was New England Clam Chowder. Campbells is gonna hate her, and that little devil's gonna haunt her! It was so easy, and soooo much better. The only change I made was to dice some fresh potatoes, and start the cook on them with the onions and stuff, just because I'd rather have chunks than shredded.

The chowder was so good! I thought that this was going to take forever, but it didn't. I didn't have fresh thyme so I used dry and it came out the same. I have tried to make chowders before and it would either come out tasting burned or just didn't taste right. Thanks Rachael!
