I loved this chowder. I could not find the shredded potatoes in my grocery store so I used a food processer; only added more time, not a big deal. I liked the potates in a hash brown form instead of diced up like you find in a traditional chowder. They blended in better with the chowder. I also added an extra can of clams without the juice because I can never get enough clams.

My husband loves clam chowder but not so big on deviled ham. He loved the deviled ham, probably because it isn't from a can. Clam Chowder is one of hubby's favorites, deviled ham one of mine. Thanks!!

We tried to spice it up, but in the end it wasn't enough flavor for my girlfriend

I made the corn and crab version that she mentioned on the show. It was great! I used 1/4 lb. or corn and 1/2 lb. of crab. I also used fresh potatoes and simmered them with the corn and chicken stock before hand to cook. I added a little red pepper in addition to the hot sauce. The result was one of the best chowders I've ever made. The difference is using chicken stock instead of clam juice. It makes a much better tasting chowder!

This was easy to make and very tasty. I used onions, celery, carrots, cabbage, and red pepper and the chowder turned out very sweet and yummy (not to mention very healthful. My husband, who usually don't like creamy soups, raved this chowder.

I made this soup over the weekend and it just gets better over time. Loved it fresh made and was wonderful as a light lunch today. Will definitely make this again.

This soup took me about an hour to make. I forgot to buy the hash browns so I chopped up some potatoes. Next time I'll put some carrots and corn, maybe. I was not going to make the sandwiches because my husband told me to forget it, however I was waitng for the potatoes to soften so I made them with canned albacore tuna on top of leftover french bread and jack cheese. The whole dinner came out AWESOME! I give this recipe a 10.

My family loves this chowder. It's not too heavy like the thicker versions and the fresh celery and thyme give it incredible flavor. I serve it with BLT's...it makes a warm, comforting dinner!

This was a pretty good chowder. I live in new england, so I have had many clam chowders. What I liked about this was the addition of the hash brown potatoes. I couldn't find the raw so I had to use the box but it was still great. If you use the box potatoes be careful not to add the whole box because the hash browns will take over the chowder.
