These shrimp were super easy and tasted great. I only wish I could get more coconut to stick to the shrimp. Definately make sure you spritz the lime garnish on the shrimp. it adds a whole new level of flavor.

This coconut shrimp was to die for. One thing I did, which I highly recommend, was to coat the shrimp with cornstarch before dipping in the egg white. This helps the breading to stick much better and makes it very crisp. The five spice powder adds a delicious and interesting element. I made this with the entire meal from this episode but next time I am going to serve it with Hawaiian curry chicken thighs. I am also going to replace the regular breadcrumbs with some breadcrumbs made from sweet Hawaiian bread. I know the contrast between the sweet shrimp and the savory curry will be stellar.

Wasn't expecting it to be as sweet as they were. The coconut overpowered the shrimp. May I used the wrong kind. My husband didn't care for them. When I noticed the coconut didn't stick I chopped the pieces down a little more in the food processor. This seemed to help. I liked it.

Double dipping is a must to coat the shrimp. I followed the on screen tip using panko breadcrumbs and they were excellent, but I don't think that 5 spice powder belongs in coconut shrimp and won't use again. Otherwise...perfect!

These were good....I couldn't find unsweetened coconut in my tiny town and will definitely search it out for next time. I made it with the chicken stir fry and it was way good....just not possible (at least for me to make both dishes from start to finish in 30 minutes.....no way!!!!!!
