I made a couple of minor modifications - I substituted margarine and soy milk for the butter and dairy milk since I have a dairy intolerance, and I used dried sage instead of fresh because that's what I had on hand. I don't care for very sweet pancakes so I used only half the sugar. It was still more sweet than I would have liked so next time I will only use 2 tbl. I also added 2 tsp of baking powder so they wouldn't be too heavy. Very good flavor and something different than the ordinary plain cornmeal pancake. I served with maple syrup instead of honey and a side of grilled apples.

Liked the recipe, the batter made a ton of pancakes! I used dried sage, probably would have been more tasty with fresh. I ate drizzled with honey.

This has become a "HIT" with my native American friends. The ladies are asking for the recipe so they can make them at their feasts. Thanks.

After reading the enthusiastic reviews it seemed this recipe would satisfay any lover of cornmeal based treats. Not so.
The cakes were tough and rubbery and the
sage did not come through.

This recipe is absolutely delicious. It is perfect for all meals, and can be family style, or fancy for guest. I prefer to make my corn cakes savory, and serve them with fried eggs for breakfast, but they were certainly tasty sweet too. I keep this batter in my fridge for making snacks....

Versatile and tasty. Can be used for breakfast and as side dish for dinner. I put them with pork tenderloin and it was delicious.
