My husband & I had this over at our neighbor's house and it was awesome! They lightened up on the hot sauce (I'm not a fan of spice, and it was just right! Yum!

This was fantastic! I agree that a pound of pasta would be too much so right off the bat I used a strong 1/2 pound. Perfect! I also used whole wheat spaghetti, I thought it added just another layer of flavor. Went together really fast also.

This is such a great twist on a quick and easy spaghetti diinner. Always likely to have the ingredients on hand and beats of jar of the same old sauce...

I read the reviews before making it, and cooked just 12 ounces of spaghetti rather than 16 since so many reviewers complained about there being too much pasta. It turned out great this way. Definately a keeper and something I will make again.

This pasta was very flavorful! I substituted the ground sirloin with ground turkey. And as others have mentioned, this recipe definitely needed additional tomato sauce for the amount of pasta used. I used a 15 oz. can of fire roasted tomatoes and a 14 oz. of tomato sauce and still thought I could have used a bit more to better coat the pasta. I will probably buy a bit more sauce the next time I make this dish. That being said, this was a delicious recipe and I will definitely be making this pasta again!

I too, found the recipe as written a little bland. Not bad, just not "cowboy" enough. Like many, I added an extra can of tomato sauce. If you don't , there's simply not enough sauce for all the spaghetti. I threw in some extra garlic to taste and still it wasn't right. Then A-HA! I squirted in a bunch of barbecue sauce, about 1/4 cup or a little more. That helped tremendously. Then, I diced up some leftover cooked steak, added it to the sauce and that made it perfect! Now we're talkin' COWBOY! With the changes I made, the recipe gets 5 stars and I will definitely make this again!

I used 3/4 lb. of elbow macaroni and added an extra can of tomatoes. Otherwise, there is way too much pasta and not enough sauce.

This is a nice change from the normal spaghetti night. We skipped the bacon completely and used ground turkey instead ground sirloin. We used 1/3 cup vegetable broth (better than bullion instead of the beer. Made a tasty change to spaghetti with plenty of leftovers.

Our only suggestions would be to go from an 8 ounce can of tomato sauce to a 16. Also could add another layer of flavor (not to mention fiber by adding a can of dark red kidney beans.

Some reviewers have commented about a lack of taste to which I suggest changing the hot sauce or add more and add a dash of coriander and chili powder.

I saw this recipe and i had to try it. Once I did, i knew it would be one of my signature dishes. I altered the recipe a bit by adding a jar of fire roasted tomatoes and not using scallions but instead adding olives. All of my friends request this dish when I host dinner parties.
Its a keeper in my recipes book. my mom says it's even BETTER than hers. Now that's a Showstopper!
