Love the mushrooms, but the recipe as a whole I found quite bland. I agree with Alisha from Columbus (below in that you have to watch Rachel make the recipes, her measurements are definitely not standard.

I very carefully watch the recipes when I see them on tv first. I noticed that Rachel really used about 1 cup of cream, way more than she said she was using. She was just "eyeballing" it. I definetely put how much I want in all of my rachel recipes because she doesn't stick with standard measurements anyway.

Made this for dinner tonight since I love mushrooms. My first time using a whole wheat pasta. It cooks up not as al dente as regular pasta, so check doneness before recommended cooking time ends. I used regular white button mushrooms and dried shittake mushrooms that I reconstituted in hot water. Followed the rest of the recipe as stated, except I added a little more cream. Mushrooms came out meaty and delicious with the leeks. The dish could have used the addition of red pepper flakes or something else to give it a little kick. Other than that, would make this again, definitely.

I didn't follow the recipe exactly and chose to "eyeball" the ingredients. Like many of the other reviewers, mine did not turn out as creamy as I was expecting. That being said it had a wonderful flavor and was very satisfying as the main dish. I tried it with fresh spinach linguini which added another dimension of taste -- I will definitely make this dish again!

I just made the pasta and I thought that the sauce might be too heavy for Spaghetti so I used egg noodles which worked really well. I loved the combo of leeks and mushrooms. Firts time I tried leeks and I loved them. I upped the cream to one cup whipping cream but maybe I did not let the wine reduce as much as I should have so it wasn't as creamy as I would have liked but I noticed that as the meal wen on the subtlety of the flavors really came together and I could taste the essence of the wine and leeks and garlic and mushrooms so it was pretty good but not a wow 5 star factor. Maybe I'll try the pepper flakes with my leftovers.

I have made this twice and both times every plate on the table was completely cleaned. Some frown at the thought of mushroom spaghetti even my husband did ...till he tasted it

Honestly, I have never seen Rachel make anything that I would consider eating, but I love to watch her. I saw her make this and had to try it. It was amazing. My husband had two plates full, and ate all of the leftovers the next day. I would also recommend using more cream because it was a tad dry, but not too bad. This is definetly going to be a regular in my house.

I was glad I read reviews first- I think it helped to ensure this meal came out perfectly.
First, I used only one leek, since several people suggested 2 may be too much. The leeks I get here are usually pretty large, but I have seen them smaller in other places I've lived, so I guess that's a good way to judge... perhaps the recipe was written with smaller leeks in mind. 2 of the leeks available to me would have been overkill for sure.
Next, I used close to a cup of cream to get the consistency desired... I'm sure this is a preference thing. I'm sure it would have been great with less. Cream, however, is something I rarely use when cooking, so I wanted to make it count with this meal!
I also added crushed red pepper since everyone I was cooking for likes a little kick with pasta dishes.
I am a vegetarian but I cooked this meal for 3 grown men- who are all meat eaters- and there were no leftovers, so I take that as a good sign.

My husband went crazy for this meal. He thought it could definitely be served in a restaurant. I did not find it too dry at all. It is really garlicky which is one thing my husband loved but if you don't like a lasting garlic taste you may want to use a little less. A big hit that I will definitely make again!

This was a great tasting dish but initially very dry. I saw the show and she actually blended in the parmesan with the pasta instead of topping it with it. Maybe that made it a bit drier than I expected but it just seemed like it needed more cream. That's fine but why not list the ingredient amount as half - one and a half cups of cream? At least I would have a heads up as to how much I would actually need.
