Croque Madam was pretty bland - Canadian Benny's is the same type of dish and has a lot more flavor.

I love this recipe. It's become a breakfast favorite in my home. A couple alterations I made included: using yellow mustard instead of dijon, omitting the nutmeg and parsley, and only making 1/2 as much sauce as the recipe calls for (I threw most of it away the first time. And, thanks Rachel for telling me to cook the egg on low heat...I can FINALLY make a decent sunny side up egg!!!

Terrific recipe; very filling and delicious. Easy to make as well. Loved the addition of dijon to the bechamel sauce. I used sourdough bread to give it a little more texture.

never eyeball fresh grated nutmeg. it goes from the perfect accent to overpowering in a milisecond. be careful!

This is definitely not ordinary. Its a wonderfully delicious combination of the typical, grilled ham and cheese sandwich and a egg in the nest breakfast. The flavors truly compliment one another and was quite easy to prepare. Enjoy!

My husband raved over this sandwich.
it was excellent. I used whole grain dijon which gave it a little crunch.
    it's good anytime.
