My family is not a ground turkey fan, but this dish is now a favorite and my daughter-in-law begs me to make it.

I highly recommend you trying this recipe!
I did of course add and change a few things:
I recommend cutting the ginger amount in half (unless you love ginger, cut the bell pepper amount in half, Add any type of mushrooms you want (Shiitake, White ect.. I had only White mushrooms but I bet Shiitake would be awesome. I also added 4 cooked crispy turkey bacon strips and 1 cup of Monterey Jack cheese.
I cooked the turkey bacon in a non stick pan with butter cooking spray until crispy.
I then rough chopped the bacon and added it to the Monterey Jack cheese.
You can wet or dry heat the Curry. I choose wet heating it. I used a tsp. of light butter (Country Crock and melted it in a medium - high heated pan and then added the Curry to heat it.
Now follow the recipe for mixing & forming the ball I then pressed my thumb into the meat (not through it to form a pocket. Taking the turkey & Monterey Jack mixture and form a small ball and place it in the pocket of the turkey paddy. Make sure the cheese and bacon are not exposed (takes a little work and grill the burgers or pan fry.

What an excellent twist to a traditional american meal. Wow!! You really must try this. It's so easy!
I didn't do the slaw, but that looks great, too.

We loved the turkey burger. To cut back on bread we have eaten without the roll and used other 'toppings', i.e. the curry dip from Rachels Coconut Shrimp recipe is GREAT on the turkey burger. We have also used her (healthier salsa recipe (onions, tomotoes, cilanto. You don't miss the bread!

I used Pickapeppa Sauce instead of the Mango Chutney, which was tasty, but I'd also like to try these ingredients as a meatloaf, incorporating the Pickapeppa Sauce (or Mango Chutney along with some corn or another sweet vegetable. That would also lower the carbs.
