This recipe was delicious. I left out the tarragon (don't care for and the dijon mustard (ran out and it was just as good. I cut the asparagus in to 2 in pieces and sautéed in EVOO and S&P instead of boiling it - only took about 15 min. I also slightly toasted the sliced almonds. The presentation is very nice. My whole family said to save this one to make again. Thanks Rachel for another yummy meal!

I found this recipe as I was searching for a use for some leftover rotisserie chicken. This is a dish you could entertain with (unlike the cream of chicken soup and egg noodles type chicken divan I had growing up. It's delicious; the flavors of all of the ingredients come together VERY nicely! Using rotisserie chicken made the prep faster. I just added the chicken to the sauce at the very end. I dont like mushrooms and used chopped onions for the sauce instead. This worked perfectly. I used steamed broccoli instead of asparagus because that was the vegetable in the dish I had growing up. It was delicious with broccoli; next time I will try asparagus, Don't know if I'd make the rice as a stand alone side but it tastes outstanding with the sauce and chicken. Easy recipe. Excellent results! Oh- and if you're not sure about the tarragon just go light on it (1 Tbsp will not overpower the sauce.

I thought this came out great! I did use orzo instead of white rice, but very tasty! and I loved the scallions with the orzo.

I don't see the wine mentioned in the ingredients. I had made this years ago and thought i remembered putting white wine in it. I went to the grocery store to pick up the ingredients, kept looking them over and never saw white wine so I thought maybe that was another recipe I was thinking of. Now i'm reading the instructions and voila, white wine is mentioned. Why was it left out of the ingredients?

This dish is good, just a little on the forgettable side. I did love the flavor in the rice.

I did not get the flavor that others are raving about. I think the "two rounded spoons of flour" may have been the culprit, especially since I use wheat flour - - the imprecise measurement I think made the dull flour taste too much for the seasoning. Stone ground mustard is a better substitute. The rice with the thyme was okay but strong tasting and a bit weird. The rice taste was heavier than the mushroom - tarragon sauce. The almonds seemed irrelevant -- and this coming from a person who enjoys all of the ingredients. Prep time was greater than 30 minutes, so cut all of your stuff ahead of time, dice the mushrooms and add more, and ease up on the flour. Not sure I'll try this again. Not sure it's worth the trouble.

This dish was great! The rice was fabulous and flavorful, the chicken was tender and well seasoned and the mushroom tarragon sauce was out of this world! This most definitely is a keeper in my books.
