I made this as part of a mothers day brunch for my family. It was super easy (especially since i'm not an a.m. person and everyone ate it up. They even fought over who got to take the leftovers home.

Okay ya'll, I was not about to put lunchmeat in the food processor. Gross! I used honey smoked turkey lunchmeat slices and gouda cheese because that's what I had in the fridge. I used nice fresh Italian bread and toasted it in the oven. Man what a sammy! The asparagus were a nice sneaky way to get my hubby to eat vegees. What's great about this recipe is that you don't have to use the same things she did. Next time I'll try mixing honeymustard with butter for the spread and use honeybaked ham lunchmeat slices. Maybe I'll stick some crushed up potato chips on top and use havarti or swiss cheese. Woo hoo!

This was ABSOLUTELY delicious... I omitted the mustard all together, since I am not a fan, but the toasts were divine. I just ate it up! I will definitely be serving this one again and again at my brunches. It is sooo delicious and you can make it up with whatever cheese or meats you have on hand! It would also be delicious with smoked turkey and tons of different cheeses. Thanks Rachael for yet another wonderful meal...
