If 6 stars was a choice, I'd give it 7. really good. Not too spicy but you can make it that way or put Tabasco on the table. Don't like green bells so used red and made a nice color contrast. Most of us have everything in the pantry except the protein and maybe the pepper. Mise en place (French--loose translation is everything prepared before you start-everything in it's place is easy with this and you can prepare the night before or the morning of and buy the protein on your way home and have it done in a very short time. Already planning a dinner party around this. Rachael's Dad was a lucky man.

I first got this recipe from Rachel's "comfort food" cookbook and have been making it ever since. It's my husband's favorite and he tries to convince anyone who's coming for dinner that it is the ONLY thing to request that I make :

    Thanks, Rachel!

Once I chopped all of the ingredients (which takes 30 minutes itself I made the recipe in a reasonable amount of time. I prefer a bit more of a spicy taste, so I added 1 jalapeno, but it could have been even spicer.

This was good the night I served it, but the leftovers weren't very appetizing. (There are only 2 people in my house, next time I'll halve the recipe.

I love Rachel's style and the simplicity of her recipies. This was good, but not my favorite.

My boyfriend and I made this together and it was just outstanding, one of the best recipies that I have gotten from Rachel. It was even better the next day. I did not change a thing other then added some more shrimp and sausage...it was great!

My parents went out for their anniversary so it was up to me to make dinner. Well! I decided to make Jambalaya and this sounded perfect. Turns out it, it was easy [[since I've never made anything except cup o'noodles]] to make and it was delicious!! Not only did I love it, but my other siblings did as well. :
