After I read the reviews of other people who complained of too much spinach, flavorless sauce, and a weird texture to the meatballs, I decided to use half the spinach, leave out the ricotta cheese, and use gruyere cheese instead of parm. in the sauce. The meal was fantastic! I never tried it the original way, so I don't know how the recipe is when done the way it was written, but with these changes I had an absolute winner.

My family loved this, but I did make several modifications with the recipe. I read many of these reviews and chose to use only one box of spinach which seemed like plenty. I also made the meatballs smaller and mixed them right into the pasty and sauce. I also spiced up the sauce a bit my adding some nice tangy fontina cheese and a bit or mozzarella for texture. I also mixed everything together and put the whole deal into a casserole and topped it with a bit more parmesan and mozzarella and baked/broiled it for a few minutes to brown the top. It got rave reviews and made wonderful leftovers!

I followed the directions exactly, and thought the pasta with sauce was very bland. The "meatballs" had a good flavor, but were REALLY hard and too dense.

Two boxes of spinach would be waaaaay too much. But this was delightful and easy.

I cooked the meatball recipe, once w/ chicken and once w/ ground turkey. Both times it was great. Hard time getting leftovers. Thanks!
