The banana mixture with the icre cream is an amazing combination. I will be making it again and again.
I was not wild about the phyllo triangles. They tasted pretty good but I did not think it added any value to the dish. For different texture, I would recommend putting a piroutte in the dish - they are more tasty and pre-made!

At first I was intimidated by this recipe, but then I decided to try it! I didn't have parchment paper, so I sprayed non-stick spray down on the cookie sheet and that worked like a charm. I only baked the phyllo dough for 10 minutes and that was perfect. I also did not have regular sugar so I used brown sugar and that was just fine! I didn't get the bananas to flame up...but it was ALL yummy!
My husband was VERY impressed!!!!! Said it was better than bananas fosters since it had the phyllo triangles. Thanks Rachel!

I just had a "Valentine" dinner party and ended the meal with this dessert. It was the perfect GRAND FINALE! Very easy to make, and not extremely heavy after a large meal. I made the phyllo triangles the day before. I did one thing extra to the triangles....after they were baked, I brushed them with melted butter, & sprinkled liberally with sugar/cinnamon. I didn't use all the mixture when I sprinkled it between the phyllo sheets, & saved some for the top. This way I didn't over-do the sugar.

Flambe fun - yes! Phyllo triangles were very good but too sweet - could use much less sugar mixture. Quite
hard for me to cut up because the top layer of phyllo kept moving around and in the end got stuck on other "triangles" suggest buttering the bottom side of the top sheet(? The top cookie sheet weight does allow the sheets to meld together when baking. Also, bananas were too sweet...mine probably were too ripe...use under ripe bananas. Beware of cutting up your bottom cookie sheet. That being said, the phyllos were especially yummy.
