Wow! Just finished din. We are on the Gulf in FL. Lucky to have wild shrimp for the frutti. Found some great live mussels, but no good looking clams. Substitute: One lobster tail. Best I've ever tasted ( and I've tasted many frutti's. Paired with a nice Malbec. Bellissimo!

This dish is amazing! I registered just to comment about this recipe-- it's very easy to make (only 2 pans! and tastes incredible. We used a serrano pepper instead of the pepper flakes and added a bit of squid tubes and tentacles. I can't believe I just cooked something that awesome!

I haven't tried this recipe yet, although I plan to tonight. I would like to comment on the previous two reviews. If you don't like the host, why on earth would you waste your time posting a review on a recipe that you haven't even bothered to try?...Unless, of course you have nothing better to do with your time. Perhaps your time would be better spent taking an english class to improve your spelling and grammar!

I have never made fresh clams or mussels before - but I sure will again. This was wonderful. I used a lemon-pepper pasta from a local store, which worked wonderfully with the seafood. Also added scallops. OMG - to die for. Thanks Rachel!!

My husband and I eat this dish at a very popular restaurant in the Bay area, and this version is very similar. We loved it!

I've made this recipe several times for dinners of all types. Variations of shell fish can be used to match with the rest of the dinner.
