I am German and was very curious about this recipe especially since I love hot German potato salad... these were VERY yummy and my 10 year old son had seconds, this is definitely a keeper!!!

I think this is a really good and innovative way to do potato. After today's show, I immediately went to kitchen and prepared this German style potato fries. The outcome was awesome!!! Love the bacon oil, sugar, salt mixture flavor. My picky husband even finished the whole dish. This dish will definitely be one of my favorite receipt in the menu.

When I plated the potatoes I added some egg wedges around the side to make it like germen potato salad I have always had

These were sooo easy and great way to flavor up a potatoe. I had to cook them for a lot longer that 20 minutes. Maybe more like 40 minutes, but then it wouldn't be a 30 minute meal, would it. ha ha.

Delicious! A fine accompaniment for meatloaf, burgers, baked chicken or just about anything! And, yes, it is wonderfully gluten free for those of us who need it that way. I added a bit more oil and cooked them a bit longer...like 'em crispy. Thanks, Rach!

Wonderful! Had them with Wurst Sliders - a real hit! This is supposed to be German influence, pumpkin, and not butchering your German food. American food is made up of many influences and we love them all!

I make these all the time for my guests - always a hit! They are fantastic without the bacon if you don't have any in the fridge.

There is nothing German about not even "Style"...I'm from Germany, born and raised and I must say, we don't have such a dish not even close to be "style" in Germany and never season savory dishes with "sprinkle" sugar, that's plain nasty, especially on those potato dish. Please do everyone a big favor and don't BUTCHER other Countries food!!!

This recipe just doesn't measure up to other roasted potato wedges I've made in the past. Mealy, lacking flavor throughout, and the bacon ends up in the bottom of the bowl. Big disappointment.
