I would definitely make this again. I served it with ice cream for some guest and for those watching their waist lines I served it with Light Cool Whip. The hint of ginger with the cinnamon made it taste like a holiday treat. Everyone loved it and commented on how they liked the fact that they didn't feel full. It was just right.

The coolness of the ice cream and warmth of the poached pears is decadent. Don't skip the ginger or the cinnamon, yumm-o!

I really enjoyed this dessert, but you do have to watch the pears so they don't become pear sauce. Depending on how ripe your pears are before you cook them. I really found this an easy refreshing treat. My friends and I give it a big YUM!!!

This simple dessert was a hit for the adults and the kids. I didn't allow the pears to get soft enough, because it was my first time and I was afraid of poaching them too long. Next time, I'll go the full 12 minutes.

    Great alternative to pie!
