this is our favorite meal! i changed it up a little bit by using ground turkey instead of beef and veal but the flavors are the same. we make it with roasted broccoli and mashed red potatoes instead of the spinach mashed potatoes and i think it adds alot to it. the gravy is amazing on the broccoli. the gravy is amazing on anything for that matter. and the meal is so easy. we make it for company all the time and it tastes like i slaved in the kitchen all day but it really does only take me about 30 minutes.

We all love this dinner. I cover the bottoms of large bowls with the gravy, top with the meatballs, and pair with creamed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. Delicious! I do make one substitution: I use feta cheese instead of gorgonzola simply because gorgonzola is a little strong for our tastes. This is a great meal on a cold day and is easy to prepare in advance.

My children absolutely love this recipe. I am always looking for new recipes to save us from the same tired recipes. Very easy to make.

I was concerned frankly, it was more time consuming that I had anticipated, and I was tired when I started, so my patience was short, never a good way to start a new recipe! But, once I got the meatballs in the oven, ant the sauce simmering, I began the Garlic Mashed potatoes with Spinach from the same episode, and it went very quickly from there. I was very pleased with how all the flavors blended, the mild, creamy sauce against the sharp cheese in the meatballs, and the creamy, flavorful potatoes is just a winning combination. Very, Very good recipe. I ended up using 2 # of ground chuck, and 1# of ground veal. I increased the meatball ingredients "just a little bit" for instance I used 2 whole eggs, and just added a bit more of everything else. This resulted in 12 meatballs, and 2 meatballs was plenty for a nice meal. I also doubled the sauce. Really glad I made it, the whole family enjoyed it!

Tonight will be the second time I've made these, and we just love em'. This time, however, I will be making them without the gravy -- that was a bust for us. Also, I used only ground chuck without the veal (and I would suggest a little fattier meat than totally lean because you need the fat content to keep them from being 'baseballs'. Just love the combination of the mild meatball and the strong gorgonzola. Thanks for another winner, Rachel!

I made these with turkey meat and goat cheese as opposed to beef and Gorgonzola and without the tomato gravy. Turned out fabulous and pretty:

Used the pork, beef and veal mixtureand the cheese I used was amish gorgonzola from Hariris Tetter. The tomato gravy is fantastic! This gravy I am think can be used on many things! You must try this!

Great meatball recipe. Used only ground beef instead of veal. I did not realize how strong Gorgonzola was. I think I will use mozzarella cheese instead because the Gorgonzola was too strong for my tastes. Still a great recipe but if you don't like strong cheese use another type. The sauce was also great.

Made this tonight as a spur of the moment meal. Only had ground beef, had to replace parm cheese with romano, and only had smoked tomatoes instead of crushed....Still turned out fantastic- kids and husband loved them!
