Good hummus recipe! I added fresh cilantro as that was what I had on hand. And to all the reviewers who are Middle Eastern and have been making "way better hummus all our lives"...why are you looking up hummus recipes? Just sayin...

Phenomenal and super-easy to make. I didn't have fresh oregano so I went with dried. Still amazing. Added an extra clove of garlic.

Great recipe but does need the olive oil.

The reviewers nikkijayh_7902157, smondo, Chef #894962 definitely need to lighten up.

i am an american born armenian, my parents were from jordan. i laugh at how non middle east people interpit the middle eastern fare. radishes.olives, tomatoes, and cukes on the side.but for a real gourmet flair is chopped pistachio's sauted in butter and then drizzled on top of hummus when its done.

I agree with Alida. You people really do need to lighten up. Hummus is also a staple in Israeli households and I didn't take offense in Rachael saying it had a Greek flare.

I just watched the episode and Rachel poured EVVO in the hummus. The recipe calls for none? I'm always hesitant about looking up recipes on Food Network because they're never the same as what you see on TV.

ok......... i am Jordanian-American and both my family and i have been making hummus all of our lives. Just like Emile said in her previous comment, this recipe originated from Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan. Just by adding oregano and kalmota olives does not make it Greek. I think these comments ( including mine is alittle harsh but we medditeranian people are very proud of our countries and we would like to be appreciated for what WE do and not give somebody else the credit. It is like praising France for the Mexican Burrito. But besides the herritage issue, the hummus`s flavor was off and i could make it way better. Also for those people who wanted a kick to it, what my family does is when we plate it, we drizzle olive oil and sprinkle some paprika or cayenne pepper and finely cut flat leaf parsley. Hoped i helped some people.

i didn't see this episode so maybe i missed a comment made from Rachel about this being from Greece. I see it nothing more than doing a variation on a dish and naming it something that reflects that. That is done all the time people! Example... There are endless themes when it comes to burgers... italian, mexican and everything in between. By no means would i ever get all bothered by the name or feel i was being mislead to actually think a burger with mozzerella cheese and marinara originated in Italy. So again, perhaps i missed something on the actual episode.

    Little too much lemon.

I guess the logic goes if you put any ingredient from a specific country you can call that dish by that country's name. So if I put Greek feta cheese in a burrito can I call it a Greek burrito? You can call it whatever you want, you normally won't see hummus in a Greek restaurant and if you do, they are just offering it to all the "xenas" (non-Greeks because of clever marketing.

This is my first attempt at making hummus and this recipe made it easy. It has a unique flavor that is easy to love. It goes great with Stacy's Simply Naked Pita Chips. Mmmm
