I substituted the green beans w/asparagus and it came out nicely. Super simple & tasty side.

I tried these green beans tonight, and they were pretty good. I will probably stick with my own personal green bean recipe, but there was definitely nothing wrong with these green beans. I also used a shallot instead of a small onion.. I'm not a huge onion fan, so I went for the milder shallot. I also added a little bit of garlic powder to the shallot when softening it up in the oil.

I was cooking dinner tonight and watching 30 minute meals. I was trying to figure out what to cook as a vegatable. I saw Rachel cooking green beans..went to the food network website got the recipe and cooked them. I did not have any fresh green beans only canned but they turned out great!!! I have never been able to make my green beans taste good but tonight my family went back for seconds and wanted more. Thanks Rachel for such a great recipe. The chicken broth does the trick.

My husband loves fresh green beans and especially liked this preparation of them. I'm not a big fan of green beans in general, but these were pretty tasty.

Wonderful recipe. Easy to follow recipe. After all gets mixed in ignore it for 8-10 minutes while it simmers and wamm, best green beans ever.

I made this with Crimini mushrooms instead of onions and used french green beans instead. The chicken stock really does add flavour to the beans!
