We have made this salad many many times and we love it every time. We don't always have the ingredients on hand, but we always try to at least get the meat and cheese in there. The vinegar and oil dressing is perfect with the sweetness of the meat. there are times that I crave this salad and will make a small one before bed. Mmmmm...

I just started cooking again and was looking for something easy. This did the trick and tasted great.
Couldn't find any hot ham, so I substituted regular ham. Also, didn't add hot pepper rings or olives, as the rest of my family didn't care for them. Added quite a bit of EVOO to make moist. Would definitely make again and mix up other ingredients in it.

Although this could be for anytime of the year, this salad is a perfect entree on a summer evening or weekend lunch on the deck or patio. It is an antipasto in a bowl. I got great compliments when I served it to guests.

This recipe really needed some oregano - dry or fresh. I think that Rachael needs to use more seasonings than just grill and poultry seasoning.

When I first watched R. Ray's episode on this salad, I couldn't help but notice the similarities to this salad and my favorite salad I order from one of my favorite Italian restaurants. It has an excellent flavor and I'm especially glad to see the show as applying the Red Wine vinegar before the EVO is a very good cooking tip. I used the broiler and toasted some French bread to make this meal complete.
