A winner. Family asked for multiple seconds. Cut down on the amount of pasta as recommended by reviewers, more Mozzarella than called for. Other than that, recipe to a tee. Very good

Made this again on 8/20/12 ... Added more garlic & sausage, then added a little more heat from chipotle Tabasco sauce & broccoli that I tossed into the pasta boiling water the last 2 min... Still only made half... It was amazing!!! It's a keeper.... Now that I tweaked to me taste

I used all hot sausage, common button mushrooms and one sauteed onion. Criminis were not in my supermarket, and most of the heat of the hot sausage went away when I drained the fat, then again there is so much variation in hot sausages that these might have been the tamest available.

This is labelled "4 servings plus leftovers." I'm figuring 16 servings and since I live alone and mostly just cook for myself, that is a lot of leftovers. Next time I make this I will use half as much of everything but a full can of diced tomatoes since I don't think the tomatoes are all that noticeable in this recipe but I don't want to have half a can sitting in the fridge either.

Sausage, cream and pasta... how could anyone go wrong (except for fat and calorie intake, lol? It was a hit! I used 3/4 lb. sweet sausage and 1/4 lb. hot and skipped the hot sauce. Didn't even need to ask my 18 yr. old son if he liked it... "Mom, this is great!"

My fiancee wanted to give it only 3 stars, but I am giving it 4 stars. His reason is "it looked like an easy meal" but the taste was great. I say it was pretty easy to make but dirtied a lot of pots : I doubled the sausage (did 1 lb of hot, 1 lab of sweet and used light cream instead of heavy cream. Next time, I'll cut back on the cheese and also on the pasta (maybe 2/3 of a box - it made easily 8-10 servings, and was a little heavy on the pasta... Overall very yummy :

I made a double batch for a potluck and had people fighting over who got to take the leftovers home so I think that say's alot! The sauce is super creamy and the italian sausage just takes it over the top! Now I know it's un-american but we're not the biggest fans of mac-n-cheese (it's usually just a boring one note cheese fest but this dish has such bold flavors that I'm a new convert. And trust me...unless your a 4 year old you'll never want that sad ol' yellow mac-n-cheese again!
