I first had this when we were visiting some family out of town. We loved it so much we make it all the time and have turned lots of friends on to it. We like spicy stuff, so we use hot sausage when not serving to any kids. We also use more mushrooms and the whole can of tomatoes so it is a little more saucey.

This is one of my favorite recipes of Rachael's. I usually make it with half the noodles and the whole package of sausage (usually 20oz where I get it.

I made this recipe last night and it was SO yummy!! It was super easy to make and it makes a ton of food! I used ziti and I didn't have heavy cream, so I used whole milk. I also used a big can of diced tomatoes, and next time I will probably also add a small can of diced tomatoes to give it some more. Very very good!

I had italian sausage left over and quick searched the food network. I had everything but the cream so we used sour cream thinned down with milk. Great taste and very easy.

When I made this, I also added some onion and substituted Italian sausage links, browned and sliced, in place pf the bulk sausage. I wasn't necessarily looking for a "quick" meal, so I added some additional stock and cream to make the sauce and bit thinner and then baked the casserole instead of just warming it under the broiler. I think Rachel is a little off in saying this recipe "serves 4 with some leftovers." I made the full recipe, but only baked half and put the other half in the freezer for another time. Even split in half, it serves 4 more than generously.

A great kicked up baked pasta! I'm not a huge fan of baked ziti, the texture of this is sooo much better & more creamy. I used a reg. 8 oz. pkg of white mushrooms (cheaper! and they flavor of them with the garlic is amazing. Really good recipe. Use smaller elbow mac with ridges, a better "cheese to pasta" ratio!

This recipe was really good and fairly easy. Instead of Italian sausage, I used lean ground beef. As others had suggested, I added 1/2 cup more chicken stock and cream, to make it more creamier. I also used like 4 cups of cheese instead of the 2 it calls for. I think next time I make it will be faster and easier...since now I know what I'm doing.
