i just made the burgers for me and my daughter and we loved them. We are big on burgers, expecially my daughter. I didn't use the sauce because I tasted it and didn't like it. I also added some cheddar cheese inside the burgers because we are cheese lovers...LOL...But other than that I made it exactly like Rachel did and they were awesome. I would definately make these again. I did not make the succotash.

Made these for dinner last night. Personaly they don't come close to burgoo. The flavors went well together and the succotash was quite good. I left out the okra because my husband wouldn't go near it if it had been used. I like to experiment with different burgers and this worked for us. I would recomend to give this one a try.

The sauce for the burgers was really good and using english muffins instead of regular burger buns practically made the meal.
My only complaint was the ground pork- it overwhelmed the sirloin flavor so I would just use sirloin next time.
Succotash was unbelievable- the green beans (although expensive made the meal. Totally worth it.

Brought out some Kentucky tradition, but not particularly Derby food tradition. For that, you need to get into some cheese and/or garlic grits, country ham and beaten biscuits, Derby Pie, corn pudding, spoon bread, various casseroles with asparagus and eggplant, Kentucky jam cake, bourbon balls . Kentucky burgoo is centered in Western Kentucky and has barbecued meats, mainly barbecued mutton, which is distinctive to that area. Louisville and Lexington, who do the mainline Derby to-dos, get more into the previously mentioned fare. How about taking on the Hot Brown, originated by the Brown Hotel in Louisville, Henry Bain sauce originated by a Louisville head waiter at a private club in 1881, to be served with game, still served at this club today with venison. And there's Eggs Derby, Mint Julep Kisses, Triple Crown Tarts ... :- But you did a good mix of flavors. Thanks.

Made this for dinner and it was really yummy. Nothing overly special about the burgers (granted, I did not use pork but the sauce was quite yummy. I did not make the succotash. If you like this recipe you really need to try Rachael's Sloppy Joes, there are alot of flavor similarities! Thanks!

I only made the burgers and they were just ok. The meat was dry and the sauce was so-so. There are so many good burger recipes out there. I would skip this one.

I didn't make the succotash, but I certainly made and totally enjoyed the burgers. The sauce had a fantastic flavor. I love sweet and spicey flavors together. Here they blend beautifully. The burgers were huge and juicy, the flavor benefitting from the fresh parsley.
