Personally, I think this recipe could be improved by the addition of a bit more bacon and a bit less paper towel. The taste of the towel was pretty good with all that bacon grease on it, but the texture was *awful*. I've tried this preparation a few times for my guests, and they always leave the towels behind. Sometimes slightly gnawed, but it's clear they don't enjoy them.

This recipe was a little more complicated then I had anticipated. See, I only had turkey bacon in my fridge so I was hoping that would be ok. Furthermore the turkey bacon was smoked, which made me wonder ..why do I have to cook it!? I was so lost but after a small tasting I realized it DOES need to be cooked. FYI smoked does not mean cooked bacon! (Rachel should put that in there! I then realized I was out of paper towels!! Although I remembered I just bought 80 pack of dryer sheets. I figured they would just make the bacon smell good! AGAIN my confusion set in after reading the box of sheets, they were labeled "morning fresh" I figured that can't be right for "late night bacon" .urgh HELP!

Would this work for turkey bacon as well?

What happens if I overlap the bacon? And are those full sheets of paper towels or half sheets?

DEFINITELY recommend this one for late night! I usually chase it down with a shot or two of whiskey and it's lights out for Tyler!

I tried the recipe. The first run was a bit tricky. I had to contact the plate manufacturer to make sure it was "Microwave safe", then had to run out and grab paper towels. Fitting 8 slices of bacon on 1 plate was a tough task. I could have done with only eating 4, but I didnt want to screw up my first time with alternate quantities. 4 - 6 mins is a big gap, I decided after discussing with my mom to go with 5 to be neutral. Fingers were crossed and all went well. This recipe is worth giving a shot, as long as your fully prepared in advance, and posting on your microwave in case your ever hungry for bacon. I can't beleive it took so long to get this recipe out on the internet.
