I think this recipe is perfect for someone like myself. I'm a beginner trying to teach myself how to bake, and this seems like it will be awesome and easy to make. Going to try it this wkend, will let you know how it comes out.

Love it! The lemon zest and nutmeg and almonds all work so well together. Simple and satisfying.

The flavor combination of the blueberries and blackberries is great. I did increase the amount of cornstarch to 2 tbsp the second time around because I thought the sauce needed to be thicker. The crust, as one other reviewer said wasn't strong enough and sunk below the sauce in some places. To remedy that, I decided to add a 1/2 tsp of baking powder and sprinkle the almonds on top of the butter mixture instead of mixing it in.
I will definitely make this again because it tastes great and is so quick to make.

I made this the other night after seeing the show this past weekend. My DH loved it! He really like berries, so I thought this would be for him.
I added a little more cornstarch as I really prefer cobblers to be thick, not runny. I think I added 2-3 tbsp. I also increased the topping recipe because I like the topping on cobblers. I added the almonds into the blender at the end so they were chopped up slightly and mixed in with the other parts.
I topped it with frozen yogurt, which I would venture to say was not only healthier, but tasted better than ice cream would have. It almost made a breakfast type parfait.
I know I'll be making this again!

Made this last night, doubled the recipe, but mixed the crumb topping separate. Made one version with Splenda and one with sugar. Took to work for a pitch n today and everyone LOVES it.

The recipe for the berries seem to be calorie conscious and cooked up really nice . The the topping didn't stand up at all. It melted into the berries and disappeared. It needs a more crunchy topping that bakes up crisp and browns. The almonds were not worth adding.
