The anchovies are what make this so tasty. I left out the wine because it tasted so good without it.

I was in such a hurry to make dinner that I didn't look at the reviews. Wish I had. I agree--skip the red pepper flakes-I used only 1/2 tsp as well and oh boy! Call the fire dept. This doesn't need heat. I like heat but it didn't belong here. I needed milk with my dinner. Milk w/ pasta--what am I, 5? I'll try again. Why does Rachel put red pepper flakes in so many recipes? I drizzled some cream in to help turn it down which helped a little.

I only used a half-teaspoon of red pepper flakes and it just masked the flavor for me and made it inedible to my wife due to the heat. Also, there's not enough sauce. If I try this one again I will leave out the red pepper flakes and use half the pasta so that it will be juicy enough for two people to enjoy.

It was one of those nights, what can I make from ingredients I have on hand. I happened to have a can of whole clams in my cabinet and decided to do something with them. I came across Rachel's recipe and it was the perfect dish to make. It was not only easy but my husband loved it. I followed the recipe exactly but used about 1/2 teaspoon of the red pepper flakes and it gave the perfect amount of heat for us. Great, fast recipe and delicious!

I was in a rush tonight and quickly looked this up on the internet. So easy!!!!! My husband loved it. I did add about 3-4 Tbs. of butter and one turn of half and half. Used two small cans of clam juice. Also dried thyne and dried parsley, since I rarely have fresh herbs. I added broccoli florets right after I added clams for a one-pot meals. Sprinkled fresh parm on top. No leftovers for our family of 4.

Well, I know this isn't traditional but I always add a little sour cream or creme fresh, or cream to make the sauce a bit creamy and then let each person add a bit of parm to the top. I also add basil. I am making this dish tonight and will definitely try the anchovies and the thymne. We love clam linguine and it ia a go to dish when we are in a hurry. We usually just serve a green veggie on the side.

I loved how easy and fast it was to make this all time favorite dish! I too used Trader Joe's Two Buck Chuck Chardonnay and tossed it with Mizithra. In my variation of the recipe I used half the olive oil and added that same amount of butter. Then added a handful or two of chopped kale to the melted butter, olive oil & garlic and then added a tablespoon of water to create, steam, covered it for a few minutes until the kale was bright green. Then added the clams, pasta, etc.. The kale added a sweet brussel sprout flavor to the dish...

Thanks Rachel for another great quick & easy recipe!

Delish! I added shallots and omitted the wine. Very easy.
