I am surprised by all of the poor reviews! This is our go-to recipe, as the entire family LOVES it! We have made it at least 10 times. I do add more chicken, usually 1.5-2lbs total and more broccoli for 3-4cups total. It is absolutely delicious, the kids (age 4 and 8 chow it down, and it reheats really well which is great since the recipe makes a TON! I like the idea of bacon added to it... I just may try that when I make it tonight. Definitely a keeper though!

It was...alright...I guess. I agree with everyone that the texture of the cheese is super grainy. I wished I used velveeta. When I finished making it, it seemed kind of bland. I added some cajun seasoning and it made a slight improvement. Next time for sure: use velveeta cheese, add more brocolli, less milk, and throw in some bacon in it. By the way, tastes MUCH better second day!

I would cut the pasta in half (1/2 pound and add more chicken (1.5 lbs and double the broccoli.

To modify for kids, eliminate the cayenne and cut the onions large enough to pick out before adding the sauce.

This was awful. Wish I had a back up dinner. Guess it's cheese and crackers...

I made this with the chicken and then i made it with smoky bacon and both dishes were delicious mmmmm. My family enjoyed both versions and i was really pleased with the results. Thanks Rach xxx

I love Rachael Ray's dishes, and all have been a hit until this one... I followed the recipe exactly, but when it was time to eat, the cheese was a very strange texture and I tasted a TON of mustard... I think if I were to try this again I'd cut the mustard in half. I don't know about the weird cheese texture though.. I could only eat a little bit because it was so grainy (I have texture issues.

Made it exactly as written. It was ok and my two year old loved it. My husband and I both agreed that it is better on day two. The biggest problem as others have stated is the cheese texture. Just not quite right.

I just made this recipe tonight and it was good with the suggestion from Erin in VA! Thanks! I can't wait to make it again. FYI It does make a bunch so you will have lots of leftovers if your a family of 3 :

I made this recipe last night hoping that it would turn out okay. The mixed reviews made me nervous, so I made just a few adjustments. I used only 2 cups of milk instead of three, took out 1 cup of cheddar and replaced it with 8 oz of velveeta cheese instead of just the cheddar (the normal cheddar makes it too grainy, added mushrooms to the chicken and onion pan. It turned out really well... the cheese sauce thickened well- it wasnt soupy. It turned out really well anf everyone seemed to like it alot!

My husband and I weren't impressed with this recipe. The cheese sauce has a slightly weird texture and even my children didn't like it. I also used less cayenne than called for but it was still too spicy for my kids. I wouldn't make it again.
