I agree with Melanie. The dish was going really great, smelled wonderful, looked beautiful. But I think I blew it with the cheese sauce. The recipe is definitely worth another try. I'm going to follow everyone's advice and cook the cheese on a lower heat. I think there is great potential here.

This is a good light recipe. Children will love it! The only thing I did different was I boiled the chicken ahead of time and added it into the pasta as a shredded chicken instead of cutting the chicken up and sauteeing it. The sauce isn't that creamy and rich but is perfect for a light meal. A lot of times when making macaroni and cheese recipes they tend to be too heavy. This recipe is perfect.

I thought it was a terrible waste of time and money!!!! It was so flavorless even my daughter asked for pepper! We could have been eating a frozen meal in a bag that would have taken up less time, energy, dishes and would have tasted 120% better, and that is not saying much at all!!

This was quick, easy, yummy, and not only great for us but the kids loved it too!!

Would also be really good put in the oven with a baked crunchy top!

    Deff worth the try!

This recipe came out wonderfully! The sauce was nice and tangy, you just have to be paying careful attention when making it that you don't overcook it and follow all the steps precisely. I think I may have turned the heat up too much and the sauce wasn't as thick as it could have been. Looking forward to making it again on a cold winter's night!

I have made this several times and it's always a hit. Make sure to use chicken stock and not chicken broth. There is a huge difference in flavor. Also, keep the heat low when making the cheese mixture or you will ruin it and it will be gritty. Makes a lot of food!

I'm a very experienced cook and a big fan of Rachel Ray's recipes. That said, this particular recipe is terrible!!! I made it last night, initially following the recipe exactly. The so-called cheese sauce didn't taste "cheesy" at all. So, I gradually added more cheese...ended up using more than double the amount of cheese the recipe called for. Still not a good cheese taste. I've never before used chicken broth in a cheese sauce and think that might have been the problem with this recipe. It was NOT good at all. Skip this one!

I came into this dish with no prior knowledge of how to go about it. I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out perfect. I did add more spices because my family loves spicy food, but the whole point of cooking is to put your own spin on it and make it your way. My family loved it and they were very impressed. I could probably teach a 10 year old to make this. Very simple but VERY TASTY. This dish is gonna go in my college recipe book for sure. ;'3

Took me a few tried with the sauce to get it to come to the consistent that works. As with any cheese sauce, the heat can't be too high or the cheese with curdle and become gritty as soon as you put it in. I think more cheese and seasonings are needed. This also makes alot of food so unless you want to be eating leftover soggy broccoli for a few days, half the recipe.

I made this when we were snowed in a double blizzard. It is one of my all time favorite comfort food dishes, and there is hardly every any leftovers! It's not health food, that's for sure, but it sure is delicious!
