As I was making the sauce I think I added too much beer, but as soon as the dish was all put together I really enjoyed it. I haven't had mac and cheese in a long time, and this recipe had been sitting in my recipe box for ages. I'm so glad I made it! The hot dogs worked well, actually, and they reminded me of how my mom used to mix hot dogs in "blue box" macaroni!

I joined food network website just to be able to do a review of this recipe. I will never make it again. Not sure what is the worst aspect of this dish, the kethcup and mustard addition or the hot dogs that made everything taste greasy. And yes, I did as the recipe said and put the hot dogs on a paper towel (2 plate and they still seemed greasy. Very disappointing.

I've met tastier Mac n cheeses but this one is in a close second place. Simple, quick and more of a side dish than a highlight or the meal itself. I made chili for a small family party and wanted a good comfort food to accompany it, hence the Mac! It does help that my husband likes his chili hot and my kids are Mac n cheese connoisseurs. I fancied it up with gruyere cheese and dried mustard in addition to spicy Dijon. Balance the two so as not to end up with a mustard sauce. Super duper!!! High-five for Rachael! Baby, you got my number!

A little cayenne pepper gives it some pep, and I think I will add some veggies next time. Quick and easy family meal and is a great way to use up hotdogs leftover from the grill!

Yuck. That's all I have to say. This is no casserole. This is what a drunk frat boy would come up with on a Tuesday night. I don't see why everybody is raving about this recipe. It seems like this dish is catered to youngsters who don't like anything but hotdogs and cheese LOL

This is a good dish but you must use quality ingredients like good kosher hot dogs and high quality condiments. Have patience while preparing the cheese sauce and the texture & flavor will be there. We like to add cayenne pepper or hot sauce for a little kick.

I use sweet honey mustard in it, gives it a sweet taste that we found missing with the spicy mustard.
