I just made this, and it was very good! The layers of flavor with the orange, nutmeg, and sweet potato was really nice. I only used the juice and did not include the orange zest due to the previous comments about too much orange flavor, and I think it was the right call. I also did not even come close to using 1 cup of liquid. It was way less than that, maybe about a 1/2 cup. But overall, it was tasty!

Made the recipe tonight and it was very good so I am giving it a 5 star. Only change I made was to omit the orange zest because I didn't want the orange to overpower the dish. I actually used orange juice from a gallon and it turned out just fine. Nobody tasted the banana which means that it blended nicely.

I love this. I made this for thanksgiving and everyone loved it. I did it just like Racheal Ray but I added marshmellows on top when it was warm and then covered it, the steam of the dish melted the marshmellows and it was the best.

These mashed sweet potatoes...well they are just awful. Not really sure why anyone would enjoy them. The idea of fruit combined with the potatoes sounded really good, but as it turns out the orange is far to overpowering. Definitely not a recommended recipe! Gross...

We had these sweet potatoes as a side dish for Thanksgiving. They were a huge hit with everyone asking for the recipe. I made them just as the recipe suggested. The orange flavor was excellent (we obviously disagreed with others who did not appreciate the flavor. What could be better than a start of bananas sauted in butter. Yum.
