I made 5lbs of meatballs based on this recipe for a Superbowl Party. I made 4 batches individually to ensure that I had the proper mix and quantities of seasoning.
My local grocery store didn't have ground sirloin so I used "Market Meat" which is Chuck, Sirloin, Beef and Pork ground together.
I made and cooked the first batch to the recipes specifications then conducted a taste test. The meatballs were rather bland. So for subsequent batches I increased the ingredients/seasonings and added Italian herbs.
They came out MUCH better, lots more flavor and were very moist. They disappeared at the party. Thank goodness, cause I made a TON.

These are a great meal idea for the family. Sauce is great and could be used for other dishes also. Be sure to season well unless you like your food bland. Will be making this recipe often.

Made the meatballs and sauce for a take along picnic at a local winery. Instead of baking I browned in a skillet and then added to the sauce to finish cooking. I packed it all up and we made the sandwiches when we got there. Everyone raved how good they were, even my girlfriend who said "I don't normally like meatballs" and she had seconds! My husband liked them so much I made them again the next night and added to my regular spaghetti sauce and served them with spaghetti noodles for my family and got more rave reviews! Thanks Rachel!

I have made this several times for visitors and it is always a hit! It can be made using turkey as well, but increase the flavor by adding more of the spices.

I made these last night for dinner for my husband and I. They were so filling with the fries even he could only eat one sandwich (and I used smaller bread which only fit 3 meatballs. There's not anything I would change about this recipe, but it makes a LOT of food. We have a ton of meatballs and sauce leftover, so I guess it will be spaghetti for dinner tonight!!!!

My husband and I loved these meatball subs! We even had the leftovers the next night with spaghetti. Will definitely make again, but next time I'll cut the red pepper flakes in half. It was just a little spicy for my taste.

This was delicious!!! I couldn't find crusty buns to put them on, so the buns I used got super soggy, but it was still good. Definately make the extra effort to get the right bread, though.
