Why call this meatloaf? I'd call it a perfectly seasoned hamburger steak. Reheats and freezes well (uncooked so I always make extra. If I'm lazy I serve it with frozen fries. Always make the gravy (I never have steak sauce in the house so I never use it, I'm sure it would be even better if I did. The smashed potatoes are fun and I find they reheat pretty well too for our lunches the next day. This one made the rotation! Thanks Rachel.

It was delicious. Not quite the same recipe though- but very similar - I got it out of a magazine.
Definitely a hit in my house and will cook it again. Didn't have cumin so substituted chili powder, and couldn't get all spice so put Chinese 5 spice.

I tried this recipe and while it's a good idea, the recipe itself is just awful. First of all you are better off just using a traditional meatloaf recipe, and definately do not add allspice !! Then just fry the meat in patties instead of making a meatloaf. Then the gravy, works much better with a tradional onion gravy with onions, garlic, flour, butter, beef stock and salt and pepper. Tastes much better that way.

Awesome! My husband and I loved them. My husband is not a meatloaf eater but this recipe changed his mind. I will make this again soon!

I made this to try something new and it turned out wonderful. I will definitely make this again. The pan gravy was awesome.

I liked this meatloaf a lot, but my husband loved it and is the only one he likes. I prefer a tomato based meatloaf more and he liked this one because it didn't have the usual ketchup or tomato gravy.
