I don't like traditional meatloaf so this was a real treat. I have made it for my family and relatives and they all love it. I, too, don't use the alspice and use Worchestershire sauce in the gravy. This is one meal that is always requested again and again. Thanks Rachael!!!

Any meatloaf reciepe will work here I think. I used ground chuck, bread crumbs, egg, black pepper, onion powder, and a tomato based salsa in my meatloaf. The onion gravy was fantastic before I added the ketchup, steak sauce and I used grey poupon instead of dark mustard....It looked delicious but when I tasted it...I was sorry I added those ingredients....Imagine my surprise when it tasted so so so good on the meatloaf! My husband said it was a party in his mouth! Give this gravy a chance! You will not be sorry! I didn't have beef broth so I used chicken....Fantastic!!!!

I totally love this recipe. I leave out the allspice (I just can't see putting that in meat and leave the mustard, steak sauce, and ketchup out of the gravy. It is soooo good. I made this for my Pops on a visit about a year ago and he couldn't stop talking about it. I now have to make it for him everytime I visit. We both love it!

Made this for dinner tonight and my boyfriend said it was the best meatloaf he had ever had. I doubled the tomato paste in the patties and did the gravy a little different. Added some fresh sliced mushrooms to the onion and butter. I also skipped the condiments and added a little soy sauce instead. Easy and filling fall or winter dinner. Thanks Rachel!

I enjoyed this recipe. It was great comfort food especially partnered with the smashed potatoes. Not the most amazing meatloaf I've had, but a good stand-by. Liked the pan gravy also. I used A1 Steak Sauce as the 'steak sauce' portion of the gravy. That flavor kept on standing out. Not exactly my favorite flavor, but okay. I would probably make this meatloaf again, but not without looking for a better recipe in the mean time.

This recipe is amazing! I must confess I like Paula Deen's basic meatloaf recipe better but, at the same time this meatloaf is also great and the gravy on this recipe is "to die for". What a unique combination of flavors.

This is really good and really, really filling. I make this all the time in the winter. If is fast and filling meal and my English husband, perplexed by meatloaf to begin with, LOVES it.

Great, simple recipe!!! Kids love it! For a twist I added a tablespoon of cajun seasing instead salt and pepper.

Easy and delicious. Made for my husband and myself one evening and he could not wait to have the leftovers a couple days later. Did not have the receipe, but remembered my best and only forgot the tomato paste. Gravy was out of this world!
    Thanks Rachel's Mom or Grandma!
