It seemed like a great recipe, but the sauce was so thin it was like soup. I used Greek Style yogurt, but the pepper (which I patted dry and the cucumber made it so watery, it was awful. I doubled the yogurt which made it edible.
There is no way this recipe took 30 minutes. It took that much just to make the marinade and the sauce, and I am an experienced cook. Plus she showed it on the episode with the orzo salad. It took much longer, used to many ingredients and wasn't worth the effort.

I can't wait to make these fish tacos. My husband is on the South Beach Diet and this sounds like something he may be able to have. I'm not a big fan of seafood myself but I'm trying it here and there to try to like it so I can enjoy it for my husband.

This was outstanding...and we live in San Diego and have really good fish tacos. I watched the show and read the reviews before making the dish. My sauce was not too thin...used the greek yogurt, 2%, and really dried the red peppers in a cloth towel as in the show. I also cut out the seeds of the cucumber just to reduce a little liqud...the sauce was fantastic. I cooked halibut and it was amazing. My barbecue ran out of propane that day, so I used my panini maker and the fish grilled just wonderfully. We drizzled more of the marinade over the cooked fish, and loved everything else just as is. If you didn't watch the show, I think you might not realize how much redpepper was used...which might accout for the lack of flavor. She uses two whole peppers...so if you buy a jar with pieces...like I did, you need to use enough to represent two whole red peppers. Ours did not lack any flavor at all!

I thought this was pretty tasty and was a good way to use up some fresh oregano that I had. I would agree with other reviewers that it makes way more sauce than you need (and I like a lot of sauce on things and even by using greek yogurt and draining off the shredded cucumber, it is still a little on the thin side, partially because of all the water in the red peppers, I think. I used sea bass.

I had high hopes for this dish, but either due to personal taste...or the recipe itself not being good, I wasn't a huge fan.
The recipe makes A TON of sauce...muuuuuuch more than you would need. I would definitely half the recipe if you were to make it. The sauce was indeed yummy...but I guess when combined with the other ingredients in the taco, I just wasn't a huge fan of the flavors I was tasting. I am not going to be trying this one again in the future.

So delicious! I couldn't find Greek yogurt at our market, so I used plain yogurt instead, but not a full cup. Also doubled the cumin and added a little extra of the roasted red peppers. Without those little extras, the sauce was just a little flat. I also used mahi mahi instead of halibut. Grill it low and slow and keep adding the marinade to it as it cooks....... yummy! We've had it 2 times in 2 weeks, it's so good!

This recipe looks much better than it tastes, unfortunately. The sauce was missing something, even though I added a little extra roasted red pepper. I should mention that I used tilapia....the fish with marinade had a good flavor, and was a lot cheaper than halibut. I just think the flavors didn't develop as they should have - I expected a lot more.

My sauce was watery too and I was thinking, cucumber is mostly water. So grate it first then drain out the water with a cheese cloth or paper towel. As for the flavor, i added pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. It was still missing something but maybe without the extra water it will be more intense. I am going to try it again soon. If that doesn't work the fish is amazing with mango salsa!

Way too much work with a so so finish. I agree with the others...the sauce was much too thin.

A note to Charles from PA - if you used plain yogurt instead of Greek yogurt, it will make the sauce thin. Draining plain yogurt over a tea towel for a couple of hours might help (see Alton Brown's tip on Gyros and Tzatziki sauce. Plus you have to drain all the liquid out of the cucumber.
Even though I did use a good thick Greek yogurt, I was still disappointed in this Tzatziki sauce. I was hoping the bell peppers would give it a kick. I went back and added a chipotle pepper and tablespoon of adobo sauce just to make it edible.
