I have made this three times and we always love it. Not easy to find chicken sausage but look up Rachael's florentine mac and roasted chicken meatballs and use the sausage recipe. I also have trouble finding the fresh mozzarella balls and ask the store to order for me (I live in a very remote area.

To start off roast broccolini is great. It's got a nice flavor especially with the garlic.

We weren't fond of the Cacio e Pepe potatoes but that's partially our fault for using parm-reggiano instead of Romano as that's what we had on hand.

The meatballs were a bit bland even after we added some onion, galic, paprika, and parsley. Definitely bump up the seasonings.

We didn't care for the sauce by itself and while it definitely improved being put on the meatballs and potatoes your normal spaghetti sauce may be a better/cheaper/faster option. Also be careful which pesto you use, that may be one of our problems and when we try this meal again we'll be looking for one with more basil and less pine nut.

I made this recipe with a few modifications, and it turned out quite well!

I used turkey sausage, since I was unable to find chicken sausage at the store. I mixed half spicy sausage with half mild, so the meat had a nice kick to it. I browned the outside of the sausage balls in olive oil over the stove for a few minutes before I put them in the oven. I did find myself missing my regular turkey meatballs that I make though...the sausage gives the balls a different taste!

For the potatoes, I only about 1/2 of the cheese that the recipe calls for...I just did it to taste, they were PLENTY cheesy with that! Yum!

I didn't make the tomato pesto sauce; i just bought a tomato basil sauce and added some extra fresh basil, etc to it...I thought it was just delicious that way!

I was really excited to try out this recipe and have to say my husband and 14 year old loved it! My 8 year old and myself however didn't really like the flavor. I love the idea of stuffing the meatballs with cheese however I think I'll use my own seasoning of plain meat rather than a sausage. Will definitely use idea for my own recipes!

Delicious! Myhusband, and 3-year old son loved it too. I never thought that I could pull off meatballs, sauce, potatoes, and a roasted veg in 30 minutes, but I was only a few minutes over that. Definately a meal to make over and over again.

This dinner was a HUGE hit! Everyone went back for seconds and thirds, the meatballs and tomato basil sauce were SO SO flavorful. The potatoes were unbelievable, and to be honest I am not a fan of broccoli in general, and I ate it all up. (my local store didn't have broccolini, so I used regular broccoli and just cut it into strips. I also flipped the meat balls for even cooking. Over all, AMAZING

Love your show! While watching this segment I heard you mention the problem of potato water foaming and boiling over when you put a lid on the pot. Simply add a pat of butter, margerine or a drizzle of EVOO to the cold water before you place the lid on the pot. It will never boil over again! Keep cooking!

I made the entire meal. The meatballs were incredible & so easy to make. I couldn't find bulk chicken sausage but it only took a couple of extra minutes to cut the casings off and was well worth it! The mozzarella oozed a bit, but was a great addition to the meatballs. The sauce is so easy to make that it feels like you are cheating! We loved the cheesy potatoes and my husband couldn't get enough of the broccolini with garlic! I highly recommend this and it will be added to my regular meal rotation!
