The orange flavor was a welcome change my family enjoyed the dish. Although i made some changes. I added and extra orange and zest i also added 4 packs of substitute sweetener did not add hot sauce.

This recipe was great. I did make a couple of changes: dried orange zest, consentrated orange juice, left out the chicken stock, used fresh cilantro, substituted pumpkin-pie spice for cumin, added honey and maple syrup, and left out the hot sauce. It turned out excellent. The bacon was a nice touch. I will be making this again.

Horrible, whats wrong with a sweet potato baked with butter, brown sugar and maybe a hint of cinnamon?? She is just making up stuff to keep her show going. I have tried some recipes and they just don't work! I am so tired of wasting food, and I do follow her directions!
    Last recipe I will try!!!!!!

I'd prefer making single twice-baked potatoes..... than this. I did like the recipe. Easy to follow. Challenging to peel sweet potatoes. But the bacon? That was a waste. I have no idea why it was in the recipe. Or what to do with it. Since the recipe wasn't complete.

I made this for our Thanksgiving dinner and it was a big hit. I didn't add all of the bacon fat, but did add a few extra slices of bacon. I also added enough chicken stock to keep the potatoes moist. But the cumin and cinnamon flavors, I felt, were appropriate. I did salt and pepper to my taste. I am making this dish to take to our holiday luncheon at work.

The mashed consistency was just ok with me. I liked the orange and think that orange zest, fresh cumin, cinnamon, and coriander are a combination to investigate for future meals this summer. I fried the bacon separately and transferred the crispy pieces and an itsy bit of rendered bacon fat. Not the entire pan's worth! LOL! Get real, Rachael! Bacon fat can kill!
I added 3 T of salted butter after all the mixing to give this dish a velvety finsh. Additional salt and fresh black pepper was also necessary.
I paired this with grilled pork chops.
Next time maybe I will use a food processor to puree the mixture.

Horrible the orange and cinnamon overpowered this recipe! Couldn't even eat them. NASTY!

It looked like Yams rather than sweet potatoes when Rachael was peeling them so I used yams not sweet potatoes. Yummy.
