As some of your other viewers already stated, I was unable to find the butternut squash puree in my grocery stores (checked all over town, so instead I used fresh squash, and cooked and mashed it myself. It wasn't as pureed as I would have liked it, I still felt that I needed to chew it. I didn't have a big food processor, so I used a small electric one instead. (This is probably the reason for it. I felt it had a good flavor though.

In theory, this recipe sounds interesting. In practice, however, it is endlessly disappointing. I decided to try it last Thanksgiving and the result was, sadly, something close to putrid. I followed directions to the letter and then tried everything in my power to fix this recipe and make it palatable, but it was no use. The soup course was abandoned last year.

This recipe went perfectly with my orange-themed Thanksgiving meal. It was easy, quick and delicious. You've gotta love that Rachael!

This soup was quick and delicious--I make it all the time with fresh squash and veggie broth.

It was quick and easy to make but no one like it. Most of it when down the drain after five days in the frig.

This soup deffinately is a soup I would make again and again! I like the slight sweetness and if you replace the butter with all olive oil, this soup is actually very healthy! I made it by myself for my family and I am only 16 years old so if I can make it, it's deffinately easy enough for anyone to make and enjoy. I also found that the addition of a couple cloves of garlic made this soup even more pleasing and using just an ordinary stick bender instead of a regular blender, really cut down on mess and after dinner dishes. MAKE IT!

I made the soup for thanksgiving and it needed the orange juice cut in half. Also, my family added butter to the soup and found it just perfect.

The texture was fine it smelled good but tasted awful. Way to sweet to be a soup. The whole family agreed. I was very disappointed. Won't make this soup agin

I had to make a double recipe for a crowd of people, most who are health-conscious! The show with this soup aired just in time for me!
Instead of transferring cooked veggies to blender, I used a stick-type blender and pureed everything right in the cooking pot [a large, deep one] so I wouldn't have more dirty dishes!
Make sure the carrots are cut really small or it's going to take a lot longer than 5 minutes to soften them!
Everyone was surprised to hear that the only "unhealthy" thing in it was some butter!
