This soup was the perfect starter for our Thanksgiving meal. I chopped and steamed my own Butternut Squash as I couldn't find the frozen, and proceeded from there with the recipe. Even my Dad, who hates soup, loved it. The seasoning is also lovely, but I added some cayenne pepper as down here in Texas we like things hot! It really is the perfect Thanksgiving soup.

I found this soup to be extremely flavorful, creamy. The nutmeg was the kicker for this soup. I served it for Thanksgiving and went over well with my family. This soup is easy enough for any day of the week.

I really enjoyed this as did my family. I loved the little tang the OJ gave it.

I double the recipe because it says serve 6. Well we served 8 and probably only used half. Very rich soup can only eat a cup not a bowl. It was great tasting. And will keep and make again.

Great soup but I how much of the real butternut do you use? I used one large one but my niece tasted the orange juice. I loved either way.
