I have never made homemade granola before, and I researched several recipes before choosing this one. It was so easy to make and the quality (compared to store-bought is superior. Since cashews are my favorite, I used 2 c. cashews (roasted & lightly salted and I used 1 c. almonds (dry roasted. I also added a 1/2 c. of shelled, natural pistachios for color. I didn't have a vanilla bean, so I substituted 1 Tbsp. of Madagascar Vanilla Bean Paste which was fantastic! In addition to adding peanut M&Ms at the end, I also added white yogurt pretzels. Be sure to spray both cookie sheets with non-stick spray. This recipe yielded an entire gallon Ziploc bag (filled to the brim! WILL MAKE THIS OFTEN! GREAT SNACK FOR KID'S LUNCHES or PICNICS.

My family and I tried Rachael's gorp this weekend on our hiking trip. It was the best thing we ever had as far as trail mixes go.I added banana chips. Next time I'm going to try other dried fruits.

This was so easy and SOOOOO yummy!!!!! I didn't have a cinnamon stick or a vanilla bean so I added ground cinnamon and vanilla extract to the syrup and it was still so good! I varried the nuts a bit (pecans and no hazelnuts etc and it was so good!!!! You'll never want to buy store made trail mix again!

I always buy those bars with granola and nuts and honey and think to myself why can't I make it...and plus aside from it being easy to make, I get to smell those smells as it cooks..priceless

I made mine without the oats to avoid the gluten. It was great by itself or added to salads.

This is so good my husband and I can't stop eating it. It is wonderful on yoguart for breakfast or lunch or staight out of the bowl by the handful. I didn't have hazlenuts so I used pecans instead and can't imagine it being any better! Thanks again Rachael!
