Simple and delicious! I used store bought cinnamon bread. I cut it into sticks after frying and served to my 18 month olds twins with apple sauce for dipping. They LOVED it!

I made this for Christmas breakfast & it was so good. I cut the sugar in half after reading other reviews & it was sweet but not overly so. We used very little syrup and skipped the compote. Great recipe! Thanks Rachael!

I used skim milk and egg beaters and the recipe came out just as delicious. Like the other reviewers I think 1/2 cup of sugar is plenty and that's what I used.

This definitely isn't a slam-dunk recipe for me. The french toast came out very sweet, almost like candy, and the fruit topping pushed it right over the edge in terms of sweetness. My quest for the perfect french toast recipe continues....
