Made this with pork tenderloin and it came out great. I also did a mushroom pan sauce to top the schnitzel, but the citrus highlights were nice with the sauerkraut.

My wife and I lived a year and a half in southern Bavaria, Germany. We were looking for a taste of "old Germany" from when we lived there 25 years ago. This recipe "hit the spot". We are looking forward to trying it with pork vs. the chicken. Thanks Rachel, you're the best!!!!

OK, angry german, so you don't like fried eggs for dinner. Some of us do, and we enjoyed this recipe very much.
Why do you have to resort to sarcasm instead of just saying you just didn't like the dish?
"Ms Accomplished Chef" is doing pretty good .... she's got her own show and there are lots of us out here who love and admire her.

What's wrong with fried eggs at dinner Elizabeth??? I researched, and this is an authentic german recipe, named after Count Holstein. If you are of german heritage, you should know better. If you just think fried eggs at dinner is bad, you probably not American either. I thought this was great!

WOW! This meal was FAST, EASY and DELICIOUS! I knew I had to make it the moment I watched the show and I plan on making it again and again! The roasted red peppers and fried eggs on top take this to a whole new level! We absolutely loved it, even my 3 year old loved it! The only thing I did different was use my favorite Hungarian Paprika and added an extra tablespoon of it!

I also made this (along with the soup on the episode. This was a huge hit. It looked and tasted great! A lot of flavor that blended together really well. My only modification I would make in the future would be to include some type of starch with the food. I don't know what an authentic "Austrian" starch would be but this chicken would be great served over a small bed of fettucine or angel hair pasta.

Rachael Ray continues to amaze me. The combination of flavors, the texture, and the presentation of this meal is just phenomenal.
