OMG! My friend and family enjoyed this dish. I made of couple of changes. I used homemade smoked hot sausage and basil in the tube not fresh. The dish had an awesome aroma. I prepared garlic bread along with dish.

Very good and quick to make. This has become one of my families go to recipe on those busy nights. Tonight I'm trying it with Cheese Ravioli in place of the penne and vary the vegetable to what is on hand.

I love this pasta. It is absolutely delicious. I have made this several dozen times, often for dinner parties, and it always gets rave reviews. I suggest you follow the recipe exactly the first time, and then modify to your personal taste...because you will make this again and again.

For those looking to make a lighter/healthier version, I have made this with turkey sausage (jennie-o makes hot and sweet italian links, and it works great. The only consideration is that the turkey sausage has a lot more water in it that needs to cook out a bit before moving forward with the recipe.

This is a delicious, simple dish. I've been making it for years. I follow the recipe exactly...one of my "go-to" dishes when having company over. Delish!

This dish was quite good. I had tried other Rachael Ray recipes in the past and had been disappointed in the taste vs. prep time ratio. This recipe did not disappoint though. Though it took closer to 30 minutes, the flavor of the dish was great. I added two cups of peas, but just because I wanted more veggies in this meaty dish. I also used 4 tsp of freeze dried basil because it was on hand. I would definitely make this dish again.
