My husband and I really enjoyed this dish! I did add chicken to the pan while I sauteed the garlic. Then I removed the chicken to rest and continued to make ths sauce in the same pan. I didn't have cream so I used skim milk and the sauce was still thick enough! Also, I don't like hot/spicy food, but I added a few drops of hot sauce anyway and I'm glad I did. It gave the dish just enough heat and really added to the flavor. I will definitely make this again.

this recipe was awesome, the sauce was very creative, i spiced it up more by adding jalopeno's, and chili peppers. and to add some color i added red peppers, and green bell peppers. i also added Tofu to have a protein in this dish, and it worked great!

I followed the recipe exactly and found it to be very bland so I added more sage, hot sauce, salt and pepper but nothing helped, I think maybe less cream and some chicken would make it a little better, but I really don't think I would bother to make it again.

My husband thinks meat has to be in every dinner meal so I added mequite italian sausage. I would have preferred this with not meat. The flavor was great and strong enough on its own. The sausage was too strong for this dish. I will try again with chicken. In contrast to other reviews I felt the sauce was just right. It was thicker than a plain tomato sauce, but mixed well with the noodles.

I expected this to be a sweeter pasta sauce, but it isn't sweet at all. It's absolutely amazing! I added some spiced up chicken (cooked in Johnnys Seasoned Salt and added some red pepper flakes, broccoli and green pepper. The sauce had the most incredible flavor. I had to add a little extra chicken broth and cream due to the thickness of it, I like my sauce a little thin. Didn't taste like pumpkin, and is far from bland. I'd almost have to say this is one of my favorite pasta dishes right now - perfect for the fall!

The sauce was pasty and bland. My husband had to rescue it and added maple syrup which helped bring out the flavor a lot more. However, I wouldn't bother making it again.

I usually love Rachel's pastas but this one didn't work for me at all, I followed the recipe and the suggestions from other reviews but the end result was pretty bad, I ended up tossing it away.

Outstanding! Super delicious! Way to go Rachael! I'm not a fan of pumpkin, however, this is not overpowering and looks like a "restaurant" style dish. I cooked slices of seasoned chicken and added it to the pasta. Since I don't always have shallots on hand, I used a regular onion......ooohh so good. It's so easy to put together. This is a keeper!
