I followed directions to a T and the sauce was a runny mess. Would not make again.

I've tried out a few steak recipes, but this one takes the cake! The brandy and mushrooms give the steak a carmelized, mellow flavor, while the pepper gives it a great kick. Add that to some crisp asparagus and it's a perfect date-night meal!

This recipe did not live up to Rachael's promise! The asparagus was too oily and it was hard to bite into.

This recipe was viewed only days before our anniversary and since funds were tight we figured we couldn't go to our fave restaurant.

When I saw this I knew it was a winner. I used filet mignon encrusted in Montreal Steak Seasoning until perfectly seared and carmelized, roasted broccolini instead of asparagus and used a combo of shiitake and cremini mushrooms with brandy.

Normally he doesn't rave over mushrooms much less sauce but with this one he nearly licked the gravy boat clean. It was romantic and cost friendly even with wine we had (merlot on hand and would rival a dinner at a fancy steakhouse. This is a real winner and most def a keeper.

I loved this recipe! It needed more salt, but other than that it was wonderful. I used the suggested times and the meat came out perfectly medium rare. My asparagus went bad so I roasted some jalepenos, onions, and brocolli...under the broil with EVOO and salt, pepper, and red chille flakes for about 6 minutes. It was absolutley amazing with the steak. Great Job Rachel!

I made this for my boyfriend one night, and it literally only took us about ten minutes from opening the fridge to on the plate. Easy and simple, the flavors are great. Highly recommended.

I cooked both the asparagus and the beef on the grill instead of the oven and both were awesome. The sauce was also great although next time I think I'll add a little flour to make it a little thicker. We'll definitely do this one again.

I read the other reviews, and some stated that the steaks needed more flavor. I am an avid fan, and know that RR occasionally likes Montreal steak seasonings instead of salt and pepper, so I tried that and my husband was in awe of the flavor. TMarkus is not a huge mushroom eater, but RR's combo of flavors and my substitution of Montreal instead of just cracked black pepper made a huge difference.

I love this simple, easy to do recipe. A bit of salt or bacon grease in the cream sauce gives great flavor!
