I substituted brandy for the cognac for this recipe and it was just "yummmm!" Even my husband who normally doesn't like asparagus LOVED them!

Very easy recipe with wonderful results. I used portabella mushrooms instead of buttons and surprised my wife with this gourmet meal.

This dinner was absolutely fabulous. I made this with a little anxiety as my fiance does not like mushrooms that much....but boy did he love this dish....he still asks me to make it again....guess I'll have to give in soon! Lol.

Normally I really like rachel ray's recipes... I didn't try the toasted ravioli.. instead I just made a side of my own fantastic mashed potatoes to go along witht he steak and asparagus.. the asparagus was great.. love that veggie and love the roasted flavor.. but the steak was not my taste.. it had no real flavor to it.. and the cream sauce was so bland.. my husband and I wound up just wiping the sauce off of the steak and pulling out the A1.. I like the whole pepper crusted thing. .but its got to be seasoned a little more..

This was an excellent recipe. It was quick, easy and very tasty. I made the recipe as called for, and it turned out very nice. It was great for an elegant but easy dinner on a night when I did not have much time for dinner prep. Thanks Rachel for another great recipe.

I tried this one and it really needs some more pizzaz than just cracked peppercorns. I don't think I've had a worse filet.
