It has potential, but too bland as is.

This was excellent, and I'm a novice cook. It had a good, rich flavor. I used Merlot rather than Sherry though. I also added some red pepper flakes.

I could not believe how well this turned out. I used ribeye steaks and trimmed all the significant fat. I also chopped the onions versus slicing them and my partner who is VERY picky absolutely loved this dish. I'll be saving this as a go-to weeknight meal. We also preferred it over steamed white rice as the pilaf was a little too many flavors with the pepper steak.

I made this last nite thinking it would be quick and good and we'd have leftovers.
Boring. Needs more spice; I made as directed as I always (almost do when making something for the first time. Should have added maybe some crushed pepper, siracha sauce perhaps? Also the quantity of meat required seemed out of balance with a little box of rice pilaf. I might make it again with more veggies and less meat.

Soooo good. I tweaked it a little and roasted the onions and some roma tomatoes and stuck those in at the last minute. My hubby says it's his favorite meal EVER.

I love Rachel but this recipe is blah. I made it exactly as written in the recipe. It was extremely bland and definitely needs more ingredients and more seasoning. This is not the first time that one of Rachel's recipes has lacked flavor. Wont be making it again. All five of us at the table found it barely palatable.

Excellent and so easy to prepare. I didn't have sherry so I used marsala wine, delicious. I had also prepared in the morning for evening dinner so it did get to sit and absorb all of the flavor. My only change would to use a little less flour, it was actually too thick.

This was an excellent meal! My family raved about it. We had some leftovers and I think it may have been even better the next day. I will definitely make this again!

Very good, easy to prepare and done in 30 minutes or less. I didn't have sherry so I used dry white wine instead. I also added broccoli and served it with rice with onions. My husband loved it. Thanks RR.

Delicious! Made it gluten free with corn starch, added to beef broth.
