The pork chops came out great, but the beer gravy left something to desire. It was too bitter to really enjoy with the pork chops...and believe me, I am an ardent fan of gravy! I like the idea of bacon in gravy...but not this time, and certainly not with beer. The other thing that perplexed me was the reduction with the beer...it takes more than one or two minutes to reduce the liquid of the beer. In fact, it took me a little over five minutes to reduce the beer and that was at high heat. I was concerned that my pork chops would be too cold if I waited any longer for the beer reduction.

This was SOOOOO GOOD!!!!!! Made the Pickled onions and apples to go with it and the flavor was out of this world. I think that the gravy could lack a bit of flavor if not made with the rest of the meal that Rachael cooked that day. When you have it all together, it can't get any better. Well for adults that is...... My kids like the pork chops....... Can't wait to have it again!!!!!!!

I modified this recipe a little. Being from Texas I include fresh jalapenos in pretty much everything I cook so I threw half a jalapeno in there. I didn't have any stock on hand so I used 1/4 cup milk and 1/4 cup water and threw in some meat tenderizer. Like the others as soon as I added the beer and had a taste I noticed it was a little bland so I also threw in 2 tbsp's of brown sugar to give it a little flavor. Other than that the recipe was really good and easy to follow.

I thought this dish was 'decidedly okay'. The sauce was very light and different. Kept the pork chops nice a moist. Liked incorporating beer into this dish. Probably won't make these again but nice to try out once.

The chops were really good. But the gravy was very bitter and my husband and I simply could not eat it. I should have listened to the reviewers who had the same complaint. I so regret giving the favorable reviews the benefit of the doubt. I was wrong! Gravy was just not good at all!
