I followed this recipe very closely. The strong beer taste really came through, which I didn't care for. I would not make this again. If you love dark beer, this recipe is for you!

Great recipe. I grilled pork chops on my indoor grill and I made the gravy in the pan. I did not use any of the drippings from the chops because I thought that gravy would be too greasy. Make sure that the bacon is cooked until crisp. I used Black and Tan Beer. The sauce reduced perfectly and was delicious! This recipe is a keeper.

I used 4 boneless pork loin chops and Stella Artois beer. The only thing I would change is to double the gravy. My husband and boys liked it so well that they were wiping up the gravy with crusty bread. A definite keeper!!!

Love this dish...keep looking for something different to cook and found this recipe. It was easy to make and tasted delish...when the cooking was done though my husband was not home to eat, so I put the chops into the gravy and let them sit there for a while. These were the best pork chops I have ever had....my daughter wants me to make them again.

I made this instead of the usual shake-n-bake and my husband and brother-in-law were licking the plates clean. I used Stella Artois since I had no amber beer. I thought guiness would be too strong. I wadsn't sure what stock is... so I used beef broth. I would make this again... for the kids I just didn't put the sauce on, since they like everything dry.

I can see where people might find this a little salty and I think the quality of the beer is important. My husband bought a new beer that he absolutely hated (negra modelo and I figured I would cook with what was left instead of throwing it out. Well, while the everything came out really nice - the gravy did have a hint of the bitter taste from the beer that made it just a little unsavory. I think if I changed the beer to something like fat tire, or something with more spice, it would turn out perfect.

Made it exactly as stated. I used Fat Tire for the beer & it was amazing. I actually made this 2 times last week because my husband works on the road & wasn't home the first time. I just had to have him try it! Made the smokey paprika/parsley potatoes with it. The kids absolutely loved them but they didn't care for the gravy because of the onions. Major adult hit though. A few friends got to try it also & I got back online to print the recipe for them! Love Rachael!!!

I made this for dinner Friday night with garlic mashed yukon gold potatoes. It was delicious. We usually drink light beer or wheat beer, so I used Michelob Ultra Light in place of an amber beer. I only used about 2/3s of the beer because it's just he and I. It didn't have a really strong beer flavor, and I'm glad. I was worried it would overwhelm the dish, but it didn't. Delish!
