This was amazing and simple. However, because I used apple juice with no added sugars, it didn't caramelize as it was supposed to--so I added a bit more sugar to get it a better syrupy consistency. Delish!

So good. Didn't have fresh ginger or nutmeg so used what I had in the cabinet. Very yummy, apples didn't quite need 10 minutes to soften.

This was absolutely fantastic! My husband said they were the best pork chops he's ever had. I used dried cranberries in place of raisins (personal preference and 1/2 t. Ground ginger in place of fresh (it's what I had. I used 2 golden apples (chopped and 2 honey crisp apples (peeled and chopped...again, what I had. I served with a side of mashed sweet potatoes which were perfect together. I used a splash of the apple cider to thin the potatoes...nice touch! To start I made a mixed salad with walnuts, gorgonzola, pomegranate seeds, and raspberry vinaigrette. This is my new fav meal (especially for fall. Thanks RR...I'll be making this again and again!

Used several substitutions and it still came out great: Used two large Winesap apples sliced thin. Dried cranberries in place of raisins, gave it nice visual interest. Dark brown sugar instead of light. I also did not use extra apple juice, used 1/2 the amount water instead and a pinch more sugar than called for. 1/2 tsp dried ginger instead of fresh. Once the apples bubbled for about 10 minutes, simmered on low uncovered about 20 minutes more and ended up with great thick sauce. Very simple, quick, delicious!

My boys LOVED this meal! We did it with broccoli as the side! And the Golden Applesauce was sooooo GONE! I was hoping for leftover sauce for the morning!

I made this recipe for dinner tonight. I prepared it EXACTLY as the recipe instructs with the exception of the cooking time for the apple sauce. At 12 minutes I had mushy apples in apple juice. It did take about 35 minutes to reduce the liquid and have an apple sauce consistancy. The pan sauce was a nice touch. All my dinner guests loved this. I will definitely be making this dish again.
