Looks like a difficult dish, but yet so easy to make!

The recipe says to chop the apples... does the skin have to come off first?

I made this recipe exactly as is for my grandchildren. They loved everything. Their only complaint? "Too juicy." Go figure! As far as the reviewer's comment about RR's recipes being inconsistent, I haven't found that to be true at all. When I need a quick and delicious meal, her recipe collection is the one I go to and know I can count on, like this one.

This one is a definite "do over" with my gang. We made a couple of modifications with the applesauce by adding more apple cider and dark brown sugar.

I started cooking with one of Rachel's 30 mins meal books years ago and while I found a few favorite recipes - generally there's a lot of inconsistency. This recipe isn't any different. Four golden delicious apples is a lot! I had way too many apples left over and the cook time was wrong. People always talk about making adjustments which is fine to add a twist but when you have to make adjustments to time and quantity it's not a good recipe.

My husband thought it was ok - but wasn't ecstatic about it. I'm a big fan of America's test Kitchen where 90 percent of their recipes come out tasty as is - and the Get Em Girls where everything is yummy.

Rachel love your personality but these recipes need to be vetted better.

I usually just bread pork chops but I browsed the site before making them tonight to see if I could find a small way to jazz them up. I did not make the applesauce, I already had some. But I did use the tip about deglazing the pan with apple juice and adding some butter, I just poured it over the breaded chops and it was such a great touch!! It really adds a great kick of flavor and it could not be easier. I'll try the apple sauce recipe next time too.

Very, very good. I changed a couple things...per others I used less apple juice 1 1/2 cups and it still took a lot more time to get the consistency I like (1/2 hr +...used dried cranberries, I don't like raisins and always use these. I did let a clove of garlic flavor the pork chop oil and removed it before adding the chops so it would burn. The tent is a great idea and I'll do it and make this again.

I used 1/2 inch thick bone-in chops. They were good but not special enough to make again. They were cooked well though and the apple sauce seems very homemade. The chops needed some more flavor or maybe a dip in some flour prior to cooking, or something.

I just made this recipe for me and my husband. It was fantastic! I did as others suggested and cut the apple sauce liquid by about one half, and it turned out beautifully thick. I did overcook my pork chops, but that's due to my buying chops that weren't thick enough. Nonetheless, the meal was hit. I'll definitely cook it again!!!
